Badly designed sign

April 15th, 2009 (11:50 am)

Hand-lettered sign seen on a telephone pole:

SALE

LOW-PRICED CHILDREN

CLOTHING, TOYS, BOOKS

(Edited to show the color, now that martianfencer reminded me.)

Yeah, saw those around and had the same reaction.

I'm surprised that every second or third letter wasn't written in yellow.

IIRC, it was blue on orange.

There, I've edited the post to show its true colors.

They obviously don't want to sell their children, clothing, toys, or books to anyone who is color blind.

When Emergence of Animals came out, we found to our horror that the cover was bluish-green and the title was reddish-orange. (They had only sent us a photocopy to OK.) I made darn sure the second printing dropped the color in the letters.

And last weekend I saw a sign by the same people:

GENTLY USED KIDS
clothes, toys, books

Oh, right, that was it; I misremembered the top line. "Gently Used" is funnier.
