See! Your kids look awesome. I think kids can and should be dressed up when going out to important functions.

Wow -- all the white just washed out, eh?

Camera

Yup. I tried cleaning off the camera lens, but a closer look shows that there seems to be a smear inside. No idea how that happened.

Grump.

Re: Camera

Could be moisture.

But the white is probably a luminosity balance thing, which could be adjusted with The Gimp or Photoshop.

Well, yeah. What I don't understand is how it got in there. The lens is covered all the time it's not in use; and the camera's usually sealed in my pouch. It's not like I've been taking pictures in the rain or something.

Maybe; I'll give it a try sometime. I just figured it was becuase the cameraphone wasn't smart enough to adjust its exposure properly.

Re: Camera

The ways of moisture are odd. Put it over an incandescent lamp for an evening -- not too close.

Re: Camera

Yeah, if you can select just the white dress and reduce the brightness on it, then up the brightness on everything else, you should be able to improve the balance in the photo.

Very cute kids! The last wedding we went to in 2004, a friend took a nice picture of the four of us all dressed up, but the older one's shirt was partially untucked. Oh well. I cropped it out for the copy that I blew up for Johan's mom.

Good idea...though I'm afraid the dress may have such a small range of brightness that I won't be able to recover the detail in any case. I'll see.

Yup, that turns out to be the case. The image of the dress is just too flat.

Re: Camera

Later, send me the big file, and I'll try some things.

Very charming! Isn't it fun watching kids grow up? Duncan is turning into an amazing clothes horse. ;-)
