Anybody want to buy my PSP?

Back in June, I bought a PlayStation Portable. It was the first video game console I'd ever owned; I wanted it because playing video games on my cellphone had gotten me interested in video games again, and left me wanting more.

Unfortunately, I've gotten too wrapped up in it. My casual hacking has gone way down, and even my reading has suffered—where I used to walk down the street reading, I now walk down the street playing on my PSP. This morning I decided I didn't like the changes, and decided I should get rid of it. eBay is the obvious option, but cvirtue suggested I check and see if anybody local was interested.

Note that the PSP also functions as a WiFi Web tablet; its screen is 480x272, and its browser is pretty good. Oh, and it's got an RSS reader, plus various audio/video playback options.

It's the earlier model of PSP, not the slim one. In good shape; I've kept a screen protector on it. Comes with five games:

  • Sid Meier's Pirates
  • Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground
  • Lego Star Wars II
  • Namco Battle Collection (Pac-Man, etc.)
  • Lemmings

All still in original packaging, with manuals—I haven't even played Lemmings or the Namco collection.

Accessories (not counting what comes with the PSP):

  • 2GB Memory Stick Duo (SanDisk), with adapter for full-sized MS slots
  • A thumb-drive-sized MS/MS Duo reader
  • A cable to charge it from a USB port.
  • A convertor to provide USB power from a car power outlet.
  • Two cases for spare UMDs (two UMDs per case).

The PSP is currently running firmware 3.50; I haven't bothered updating it since then. If you're interested in homebrew, there is an exploit known for 3.50, which has been closed in more recent versions.

"comes with" -- you might want to split out which are packaged with the PSP and which you are bundling that you bought yourself separately.

Bundling

I want to at least try selling them as a bundle, though, to save time and effort.

Re: Bundling

It doesn't matter now, but I meant which came with the game from the store, and which were separate purchases, so that someone might not say "he lists all these games but they are cheapies that came free with the machine."

Re: Bundling

Oh! No, none of them came with the machine.

I think that sort of bundling is more common when a console is first introduced, since there aren't many games on the market yet. Later on, the bundled games get dropped so the price can come down.

How much

Well, let's see. The PSP was $170. The games, $130. The rest probably came to about $70.

So, new total, about $370. How about $150? That's about what packages more or less like this are going for about on eBay. (Plus you don't have to pay shipping--and I don't have to deal with shipping it. :-) If you don't like the games I have, I'd be glad to knock off, say, $5 for each one you don't want.

Re: How much

Kali is taking a package to Great Council for me already; if she is likely to be there, he might be our agent for this as well.

lolcat medieval hat

That's what I get for being focused on my own things -- we're going to be out of town so can't come to the Schola. With luck, Metageek can get everything packaged up before he leaves for work tomorrow, and I can hand it to Kali along with the Calligrapher's Charter.

Re: How much

Re: How much

Good, because I wasn't able to get it all together this morning. :-) I couldn't find the USB cable, the PSP manual, or the Lego Star Wars II manual. I'm sure they'll turn up tonight, but they won't be ready for Kali to pick up today.

I love gadgets, but I'm a casual gamer at best and haven't got a clue what a fair price would be. What range are we talking about?
